Rhys Kosakowski, originally from Newcastle, Australia, began his early dance training at the Marie Walton Dance Academy. He furthered his dance training by attending the National College of Dance and the Houston Ballet Summer Intensive.

In 2007, Kosakowski auditioned and became one of 4 boys to originate the role of ‘Billy’ in the Australian version of Billy Elliot the Musical. In 2012 Kosokowski joined Houston Ballet 2, and later that year was accepted an apprentice contract to with Houston Ballet.

Aside from traveling and performing with Billy Elliot, Kosakowski has had the pleasure of dancing nationally and internationally with Houston Ballet and Houston Ballet 2. He has created roles in ballet’s such as Stanton Welch’s ‘Rite of Spring’ and danced in featured roles by leading international dance choreographers such as ‘Intimate Pages’ choreographed by Christopher Bruce and ‘The Nutcracker’ choreographed by Ben Stevenson.
